2024 was a transitional year for me. It turned into my pivot year, transitioning out of full time work, and into the brave world of pursuing my own vision. With 18 years spent working in technology, I’ve operated in line with Agile principles. Over time, these principles have become more than a way to work — I’ve learned to live by them. In a world of uncertainty and technology overwhelm, I truly believe that we can adopt, adapt and learn from these principles to bring about a more cohesive and community centred way of being. Agile principles are essential tools, designed to keep us grounded and tethered to each other and our creations in the midst of uncertainty.

Alongside me, the "ground zero" Communi.Team faciliators cohort are committed to fostering meaningful collaboration and personal development within teams. As we build out the platform, we’re excited to share progress on our Live Agile framework — a reimagined approach to agile principles tailored to the unique needs of our communities.
Why Live Agile?
The inspiration for Communi.Team’s Live Agile framework comes from these underlying beliefs and commitments. Traditional agile frameworks focus heavily on product development, often emphasizing structure, roles, and ceremonies. While these frameworks excel in delivering outcomes, I’ve found they leave a gap when applied to communities and teams driven by collaboration and personal growth.

Live Agile seeks to fill that gap. It reimagines agile principles for a broader context, emphasizing:
Collaboration over Role Definition: Shared responsibilities foster a sense of collective ownership.
Outcome-Driven Work: Aligning efforts with meaningful goals, not just deliverables.
Continuous Growth: Reflection and personal development are integrated into daily practices.
Redefining the Language of Agile

To align with these principles, we’ve reimagined key terms and practices.
For example:
Daily Stand-Up becomes Daily Check-In, emphasizing accountability and shared progress.
Product Owner evolves into Vision Keeper, guiding the team’s purpose and alignment.
Retrospectives transform into Reflection Sessions, nurturing team and personal growth.
You can explore the full terminology and concepts in our Live Agile Wiki.
Facilitators Code of Conduct
A cornerstone of this initiative is the Facilitators Code of Conduct, a living document co-created with our community. This code will guide facilitators in fostering inclusion, collaboration, and alignment within their teams.
Join Us in Shaping the Future

We see the first season of Communi.Team as a unique opportunity to refine these ideas. With an initial cohort of facilitators, we’ll be testing and iterating on the Live Agile framework and the Facilitators Code of Conduct. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue this journey.
